Kit Sonic-liner #214190
The concept:
The future of long-distance travel - faster, higher, more economical
and with greater convenience. Flying close to the speed of sound
at altitudes above 40,000 ft. (approx. 14,000 m). Alas, this is not
to be - in the real world it remains only a paper concept.
The model:
The SONIC-liner is assembled from a small number of components,
and the airframe can be completed in just a few hours. In
the air the machine looks unique and unmistakable, and combines
this with totally benign fl ying qualities. In brief: the model
is a fascinating fl ying experience. It is controlled using ailerons,
and damped canard winglets operating as elevators. The power
system is two 400-size motors with pusher propellers. The outboard
wings and canard winglets are easily removed to facilitate
transport, making it possible to stow the model on the back seat
or in the boot of quite small vehicles. Access to the aileron servos
and power systems is granted by the removable rudder / motor
nacelle fairings. The model is designed for hand-launching and
“belly-landings”; this gives the machine a realistic appearance in
fl ight, combined with safe landings on any grass strip.
