Servo SLIM-STAR FL digi #65386
An entirely new design of high-performance servo designed for installation in the
extremely thin wings of gliders and electric models. The minimal installed depth of the
servo (10 mm) and its slim case shape offer the following advantages:
The structure, and hence the strength, of the wing is only minimally affected by the
servo, as the opening required for it is very narrow. Where wing thickness is limited, it
is often necessary to install conventional, much thicker wing-mounting servos in the
critical area of the main spar if they are not to protrude beyond the airfoil. The SLIMSTAR
FL digi can be installed much closer to the control surface, or further outboard
in slim wings, in which case the aileron linkage can often be much closer to the centre
of the surface, with reduced risk of unwanted torsion (twisting) effects.
The SLIM-STAR FL digi features a metal gearbox and an output shaft supported by
ballraces on both sides, making it highly resistant to control surface shocks (e.g. in
hard landings). This design also ensures a solid, low-slop linkage for excellent control
precision.
The installation materials supplied with the servo are suitable for installing the unit in
obechi / foam wings and hollow-moulded all-GRP wings alike.
