COCKPIT SX – the logical development of a successful transmitter concept
The COCKPIT SX is the successor to our successful COCKPITMM,
thousands of which have been sold. The new system was developed
with the aim of combining the proven building blocks of the
COCKPIT MM with the latest, leading edge technology to create a
modern 7-channel FM / PPM radio control system with a unique
price : performance ratio.
The system meets all the needs of the ambitious beginner and
weekend pilot, but it also has plenty to offer the expert looking
for a compact second system.


Proven features from the COCKPIT MM:

• Simple to operate, with a clear, comprehensible menu structure

• Fast and convenient to set up using the 3-D digi-adjustor

• Ergonomically shaped case

• Low overall weight

• Modern digital trims for convenience and safety when changing model memories


The trims take the form of rocker buttons; the current trim settings
are always displayed on-screen. The transmitter emits an
audible beep each time you alter the trim by one increment,
move it to the centre or to either end-point.

• NiMH transmitter battery as standard for long operating times

The operating time with the PERMABATT 1800 mAh NiMH
transmitter battery is more than eight hours.

• Practical mixer and set-up facilities

New features in the
COCKPIT SX

We have combined established features from the COCKPITMM with a range of new technical facilities in the COCKPIT SX. The result is the following list of expansions and
improvements:
• World’s fi rst in this class: Synthesizer RF technology as standard
Plug-in crystals for changing the RF spot frequency are no longer required. The channel is easily and securely set in a special menu.


• Optional retro-fi t Channel-Check PLUS

The Channel-Check PLUS module checks your channel and permits manual scanning of individual channels with approximate information regarding measured signal strength.


• Further improved ergonomics

Individually adjustable precision stick units, positioned to suit the natural angle of your hands. Tapered case shape and hand-grip areas for very pleasant
handling. Side-mounted transmitter controls / switches within easy reach of the fingers. Easily accessible trim levers


• Completely expanded as standard

All transmitter controls (sticks, sliders and switches) are installed in the transmitter as standard, i.e. all functions are available for use from the outset. No expensive and complex
upgrades required.


• Flash micro-controller technology

Simple means of updating the software when revisions become available. If the software is revised or expanded, you can download the latest version from the Internet from the
convenience of your own armchair, and load it into the transmitter. It’s extremely easy to keep your COCKPIT SX abreast of the latest developments.

• 12 model memories

When all twelve model memories are full, you can store the data for particular models on your PC, and load it back into the transmitter only when required. The interface lead (see
page 52) required for this is available from model shops. The software is available as a free download from our website.


• Can be used as Teacher or Pupil transmitter; Trainer switch fi tted as standard

All the hardware and software components required for Trainer mode operations are fi tted in the transmitter as standard. The only additional item you need is the appropriate Trainer
lead.


• Comprehensive set of practical mixer and set-up facilities

The fl ow chart on page 34 shows in a comprehensible form the clearly arranged menu structure and the wide-ranging
adjustment facilities.
